RIP.ie is a trusted platform that brings compassionate communities together in times of loss, and in 2026 we proudly celebrate our 20th year. To mark this milestone, we’re inviting our community to take part in a meaningful nationwide event — a 20km walk during March 2026. This shared journey offers an opportunity to honour loved ones, support local charities, and celebrate the strength of community. By turning remembrance into a real-world experience, shared grief becomes shared purpose, fostering healing and unity. For every charity registrant, a square foot of native woodland will be planted, creating a living legacy of remembrance.

RIP.ie Remembers – Frequently Asked Questions

What is the RIP.ie Remembers challenge?

RIP.ie Remembers is a virtual walking challenge that invites you to walk 20km in memory of someone you love. This March, participants across the country will come together in a shared movement of remembrance, connection, and hope, turning personal reflection into positive impact. For every charity registrant, a square foot of native woodland will be planted, creating a living legacy of remembrance.

When does the challenge take place?

The challenge runs throughout March, giving you the flexibility to complete your 20km at your own pace—whether that’s all at once or spread across the month.

How does the challenge work?

Simply register, choose a loved one to walk in memory of, and start moving. Track your distance however you like and walk wherever suits you—locally, outdoors, or on a treadmill.

Can I take part with others?

Absolutely. You can join as an individual or set up a team or family page to walk together, share memories, and support one another—no matter where everyone is located.

Why take part in RIP.ie Remembers?

RIP.ie Remembers offers a gentle but powerful way to honour a loved one, connect with others doing the same, and create hope through fundraising—one step at a time.

How do I share my story?
