In Memory of Michelle Hughes
vadah hughes is walking in RIP.ie Remembers to celebrate the memory of Michelle Hughes , while raising funds for Irish Heart Foundation.
I’ve decided to take part in this challenge and fundraise for the Irish Heart Foundation in memory of my mother. On the 4th of January 2026 our lives changed forever. My mam, Michelle passed away. A dear mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend who we miss more and more each day. Mam enjoyed the simple things in life, sunshine, a clean home, time with family and friends and dare I say a glass of vino at the weekend . She also took pride in her work in mental health services for Monaghan and Cavan district.
In 2001, my mam was diagnosed with Endocarditis and undertook open heart surgery at the age of 26. This surgery allowed my mam to live an extra 25 years. , While 25 years will never be enough, this time was priceless. It is charities like the Irish heart foundation that help people like my amazing mam with its research and advocacy.
I appreciate every donation. Every penny counts. I understand not everyone may be capable of donating but sharing this is equally valuable. Thank you to everyone for all the support
This one is for you Mam. Missing you endlessly
Love Vadah x

About Irish Heart Foundation
Every hour someone in Ireland suffers from a stroke. Every day, hundreds of Irish people are diagnosed with heart disease. The lives of these people are often cut tragically short. Many are left disabled. Almost 9,000 people die each year, making heart disease and stroke one of the nation’s biggest killers. It shouldn’t be this way and this fact forms our reason for being. We are the nation’s heart and stroke charity. Our mission is to effect positive change in the lifestyles of Irish people, to achieve better outcomes for those affected by heart disease and stroke and to challenge when the health of our nation is put at risk. We empower people to live longer, healthier lives. Thank you for choosing to support us.
